Debt Collectors That Publicly State They Delete Their Tradeline After an Account Is Resolved

Before you pay or settle a collection, check the debt collector’s credit reporting policy first. Some debt collectors publicly state that once an account is paid, settled, or otherwise resolved, they will request deletion of their collection tradeline from the consumer’s credit reports.
Below is a list of debt collectors that have published information about deleting qualifying collection accounts after resolution. I’ve included a direct link to each company’s published policy so you don’t have to take my word for it—you can read it for yourself.
Important: Policies can change, and the requirements for deletion may differ by company. Some policies apply to accounts paid in full, while others may also apply to settlements. Always review the collector’s current policy before making a payment or settlement agreement.
Also remember: Deletion of the debt collector’s tradeline does not necessarily mean the original creditor’s separate tradeline will be deleted.
